It worked for me in Windows 7 64-bit, but the desktop icons kept going partially invisible or ghosting, I could fix it temporarily, but with the next startup it's back. I cannot remember how I got it to show the icons on a temporary basis, as I removed DreamScene awhile ago, and I'm just checking around again to see if anyone has figured out how to fix the problem.

Windows 7 does not rule, if it did we wouldn't need to find all these things out for ourselves. Stardock never used to rule for me, because everything I tried of theirs on my XP just kept getting screwed up and messed my registry and a host of other little bits and bobs up. HOWEVER, their free 'fences' program for Windows 7 IS worth getting. As for Dreamscene....nope. Doesn't work at all on my Windows 7 Home Premium 32+64 bit OS. Complete pants and I've been looking for someone who knows of a version that actually works!

The file download is broken: the download site pulled it. Anywhere else we can get it?

@laila: here is another great site with free dreamscenes (more than 150 scenes) in HD quality (*.wmv-format, directly compatible to Vista and Windows 7): http://www.dreamscene.org
